Food Co-op Needs

At our Intown Food Co-operatives, we work with our neighbors at two low-income high-rises to increase food security and enrich community life. The Co-ops are one part food security, one part empowerment. Co-op members work together to choose their own food and run their own meetings, and all members volunteer their time and talents to build a stronger community.

In 2014, we are providing 84 Co-op members with food, thanks to the generous financial contributions from individuals, businesses, congregations, and foundations.

$150 will provide one Food Co-op member with food for one year. This is $12.50 a month or $2.89 a week for a year. Please help keep our neighbors from facing food insecurity.

In-kind items needed

  • Grocery bags: either clean, used bags or a box of new bags
  • Coupons for groceries, hygiene products, cleaning products, and household items

Special thanks to Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, Morningside Presbyterian Church, and Druid Hills Baptist Church, volunteer sponsors of our Co-ops.
